- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I've never had an experience similar to the one with Dr. Midis. My appointment was scheduled for 2:20. The skies opened up and poured. Traffic on 64 got down to a 20 MPH crawl. I realized I was not going to make the appointment on time ( after driving up from NC 2 hours). I called and let the office staff know. I was thanked, told to drive carefully and come on to the appointment. I arrived late for my appointment due to the weather. I signed in, was told to have a seat. After waiting about 20 minutes I was called to the window thinking I was going to make my co-pay. The staff member told me I had forfeited my appointment due to my lateness and I would have to reschedule. I explained that the weather had impeded my drive not to mention I had just driven over 2 hours to make the appointment. The girl was nice enough but she said the doctor had already taken the next patient. I offered to stay and be "fitted' in where ever. That was not allowed. I left and called the Office Manager. She asked if she could have 24 hours to look into the situation, which I was pleased for her to do. I heard nothing and called 48 hours later. The Office Manager told me she was waiting for me to call back and confirm I would make an another appointment in 3 weeks. Really? I asked who made the call to cancel my initial appointment. She said it was Dr. Midis. And yes, he knew I was traveling a long distance and yes, the weather was bad. Needless to say, I will never use their facility or recommend them to anyone. My physical therapist was amazed as were several other physicians I spoke to regarding the appointment. I was asked, " If he gave your appointment to the next patient, why couldn't he see you later in the day?" I have no answer except that I am not a golf buddy or a celebrity so I will look for another doctor who will have compassion for people.December 23, 2016by Sharon Flowers
