- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I would definitely do your research before deciding to go with optima. I switched from anthem to optima for the past few years. Every year about halfway through I start wondering why I ever thought that was a good idea. I can't believe I even renewed with them after that, but I typically give people more slack than they deserve, my mistake. Optima switches their policies out of nowhere &will not work with you one bit when they do despite it being a change to your policy you never agreed to and had a chance to prepare for. They take absolutely forever to even speak to for a problem. I've had them deny treatments that were dire to my health because they "didn't have enough time to consider the options" despite them having weeks notice of the treatments and procedures. I've spent easily at least a handful of days just wandering around a hospital while my dr calls to chew them out before I can even get an answer as to what is going on. I have an autoimmune disease, it's not something they are all of a sudden surprised with. Worst company ever to work with. They do have a decent amount of coverage, when you can finally get through the hurdles to even get an answer from them. But the months I go without medicines and treatments and surgeries that I absolutely can not, is not worth it. Customer service is also usually lacking. - ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Absolutely horrible. Typical greedy insurance company. If my doctor writes me a prescription there is no need to verify with the doctor that I actually need it. End of story. Stop wasting my pharmacy's time, my doctor's time and most importantly my time with your silly games. I hope you get smitten with lawsuits.February 22, 2017by Alex
